FromAway.ca provides relocation research, community data, and information resources for people considering or who have made a move to Nova Scotia. The platform is independently owned and operated. It is not affiliated with any real estate brokerage, government agency, or immigration service.
2. Content and Accuracy
We make every effort to ensure the information on this site is accurate, current, and useful. However:
- Content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, real estate, or professional advice.
- Data derived from community surveys reflects the experiences of survey respondents and is not statistically representative of all Nova Scotia residents or newcomers.
- Real estate market conditions, property tax rates, municipal services, and infrastructure realities change. Always verify current information with local professionals before making decisions.
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on information published on this site.

3. Research Data and Intellectual Property
3.1 Ownership of Research Data
The FromAway.ca migration dataset (aggregated survey responses, quiz data, and derived statistics) is the intellectual property of FromAway.ca. This data may not be reproduced, redistributed, scraped, or used commercially without written permission.
When you submit a survey or quiz response, you grant FromAway.ca a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to use your anonymized response as part of its migration research, reporting, and publications.
3.2 Website Content
All written content, data visualizations, downloadable guides, and other original content published on fromaway.ca is copyright FromAway.ca unless otherwise noted. You may share links to our content. You may quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce full articles, reports, or guides without written permission.
3.3 Directory Listings
Directory partner listings are provided for informational purposes. Inclusion in the FromAway.ca directory is not an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of any professional's services. FromAway.ca does not receive referral fees or commissions for any transaction between users and directory partners.
4. Digital Products
Products sold through Gumroad (including the Nova Scotia Relocation Decision Workbook and any other downloadables) are licensed for personal use only. You may not redistribute, resell, or share purchased files. Purchases are governed by Gumroad's terms of service in addition to these terms.
Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact info@fromaway.ca within 14 days of purchase if you have a concern.
5. Quiz and Survey Participation
Participation in any quiz or survey on FromAway.ca is voluntary. By submitting a response, you:
- Confirm that your responses are truthful to the best of your knowledge
- Grant FromAway.ca permission to use your anonymized responses for research and reporting purposes
- Understand that aggregate findings may be shared with directory partners and in published reports
- Acknowledge that responses submitted without a name cannot be identified or deleted after submission
6. Email Subscription
By subscribing to the FromAway.ca newsletter, you agree to receive periodic emails about Nova Scotia relocation, new content, research findings, and products. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We do not send spam. We do not sell subscriber lists.
7. Third-Party Links and Partners
FromAway.ca links to external websites and lists directory partners. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party site or professional. Linking to or listing a business does not constitute an endorsement.
8. Limitation of Liability
