  • You want someone on the ground with no stake in whether you buy.

This isn't

  • Real estate representation. I am not a REALTOR® and will not discuss price, offers or negotiation. You still need an agent, and I am glad to point you toward good ones.
  • A home inspection. I will not assess the foundation, roof, wiring or septic. Book a qualified inspector for that, always.
  • A verdict. I will not tell you whether to buy. That decision stays yours.

What I will do is tell you the truth about what I know. That is the whole service.

Not a sales call. Not a pitch for a property, an agent or a town. Ninety minutes to work through what is actually stopping you from deciding - a shortlist, a budget, a specific listing, or six months of talking in circles with your partner.

Why Me

I moved here from Ontario about six years ago with my husband and kids. I started the From Away to Nova Scotia group because I could not find honest information about what this move was actually like, and it has since grown to nearly 15,000 members. None of that makes me an expert on your life. It means I have watched a lot of people make this decision, and I have a good sense of which mistakes are common and which ones are expensive.

FAQ

No. Not from anyone, not ever. Everyone in the directory has been used and referred by someone in the group, not just anyone who asked for a spot. I do not accept commission on any introduction I make. If I recommend someone, it is because I would send a friend to them.
Yes. This does not replace one. It helps you choose one from a stronger position.
Ninety minutes is enough for almost everyone, but if we are clearly not done I will say so and we can book a follow-up rather than rush the end.
Some people do. Longer arrangements, like a series of calls through a shortlist or an offer, are priced individually. Email info@fromaway.ca and tell me what you are trying to do.
Full refund with 48 hours' notice. No refund within 48 hours of the call. One reschedule allowed, with at least 24 hours' notice. No refund for no-shows.

You are allowed to want more information than the listing gives you. Wanting to know what the road looks like in March is not being difficult. It is being careful about the largest cheque you will ever write.
